Vodacom prepaid airtime allows you to talk any time, anywhere. As long as you have a mobile phone and airtime you can watch the minutes fly by as you share a conversation with a loved one or family member. There are so many places to buy airtime, including your favourite supermarket, grocer or cashier – you can even buy online, by internet transfer. This means that whether you are out and about or indoors all day you never need to run out of credit.
For those who are unaware, Vodacom prepaid airtime comes in a number of prices. The cheapest airtime you can buy at the time of writing this is R12 worth, but you can also buy sms bundles which allow you pay upfront for your sms. For R55 you get 150 sms, at a reduced price. Depending on whom you’re smsing or calling, and how often, prepaid airtime pricing varies. To send messages or call overseas, or within the African region, is more expensive than a local call.
The price making a call varies all the time. If you on a contract, you normally get something called “free minutes” which allows you to make a limited number of calls for free, over a certain time period. However, a contract also means you could get a nasty bill at the end of the month when you spend more than you had planned. Using prepaid airtime prevents this. It is flexible, affordable and easily accessible. You can load airtime onto any mobile phone as long as you can afford to buy the credit, or transfer money. This is really exciting because it also allows you to give other people airtime as a present, if you know their telephone number you can simply load the airtime online, buy paying for it by internet transfer. So there is really no reason to miss out on getting Vodacom prepaid airtime for yourself or your friends!
Can you Transfer Vodacom Airtime to an MTN locked Phone?
You many be wondering – Can you transfer Vodacom airtime to an MTN locked phone? Unfortunately at this stage in time it seems that the answer is no. As simple as it is to do a sim card swap, the network providers in this country at the moment do not seem to want you to be able to transfer the credit from one network to another as this would mean that they would be losing out on money. As far as we know the only way you can transfer credit is on Vodacom and this can only happen from Vodacom to Vodacom.
Another reason why the answer to the question “Can you transfer Vodacom airtime to an MTN locked phone?” is because the phone is locked which means that only MTN sim cards can be used in the cellular telephone. There are ways in which the locked phone can be unblocked however this more often than not turns in to such a hassle that it is not even worth it to try. Instead we would recommend just purchasing a new phone on contract from one of the service providers and selling the MTN locked phone to someone who has an MTN sim card.
So if you have airtime on your Vodacom sim and wish to transfer is to a locked MTN phone, the process is laborious and should you wish to go and get the phone unlocked, you would have to get another sim card in order for that phone to work. It seems a bit redundant to do so and therefore we would recommend purchasing a new sim card to use in the MTN locked phone and purchasing airtime for that for that specific network provider.
